Frequently Ask Questions

Frequently Ask Questions (FAQs)
What is a Golden Retriever?
Golden Retrievers are award winning breed often featured in movies. They make great family dogs and are social, intelligent and easily trainable. Golden Retrievers are low-to-no shed and generally work well for people who suffer from mild to moderate allergies.
How Often Will My Retriever Need to Be Groomed?
The Golden retriever coat is considered low maintenance. Your Retriever should be bathed and brushed every few weeks. If you plan to take your Golden Retriever to a groomer, appointments should be made every 6-8 weeks and the Retriever should be bathed and brushed once or twice between grooming. Bathing your dog too often can strip coat of its natural oils and cause problems with the skin and the fur.
Do Golden Retriever Make Good Service Dogs/Therapy Pets?
Absolutely! Golden Retriever were actually first created to work as service dogs for people with allergies. We sell them for this purpose.
FAQs
What is the Difference Between Males and Females?
Males in any litter usually grow to be slightly larger than the females. Temperament and personality depends more on the individual dog than the gender. Here at Our Devoted Goldens we find the females to be more independent and to mature more quickly than the males, which sometimes make them easier to train in their early life. On the other hand, the males are more goofy, affectionate, but a little slower to develop. However, these differences are minimal and either will make a fantastic addition to your home. The idea that males or females make better pets is a myth
